From the garden, and the kitchen, and the table, you learn empathy--for each other and for all of creation; you learn compassion; and you learn patience and self-discipline. A curriculum that teaches these lessons gives children an orientation to the future--it can give them hope.
~Alice Waters, Founder of The Edible Schoolyard
Tillman's campus transformation began with the addition of a variety of food beds. Whether it's spicy mustard leaves or sweet strawberries, kids are eager to try whatever is growing in the garden. Learning how to grow food is gratifying and exciting to children and adults alike. We invite you to see how the food gardens are being used at Tillman and to access informational resources for your own garden. Stay tuned--these updates are coming soon!
